New Football for Development project bid to the European Commission

First steps of new project proposal "Football for Responsability"

After our two-years football for development project came to an end in October 2010, a new project bid was made to the European Commission (EuropeAid). It is good news for the partners involved that the concept note of the project “Football for development and global responsibility” has been approved. We are now invited to present a full application by 14 May. The new three-year project has a focus on global learning through sport outside the formal education system. In case of a final approbation it would be an ideal continuation of the initial “Football for Development” project.

The new project brings together existing partners such as the Austrian VIDC-FairPlay initiative as the lead organisation, the Czech NGO INEX, the Italian sport for all association UISP and the Hungarian Mahatma Gandhi Human Rights Organisation. In addition, the Spanish NGO Red Deporte y Cooperaccion has joined the partnership.

The project will focus on football too, with two main objective: explore new approach of non-formal education through football and increase citizens’ awareness on these specific methods.
